Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a dedicated Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant in Telford to support students with SEMH needs. You will provide targeted behavioural support, build positive relationships, and help students develop skills to regulate behaviour and succeed academically.

The role involves 1:1 and small group work, implementing effective strategies, and close collaboration with teachers to ensure a consistent, supportive environment for vulnerable learners.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting students with SEMH needs.
• Confident, proactive and able to manage challenging behaviour positively.
• Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable students.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement in learning.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to create a consistent and supportive environment.
• Help students develop emotional resilience and positive coping strategies.
