Job summary

Connex Education Partnership in Walsall is seeking a Behaviour Mentor / Youth Worker to support students in SEMH settings. You will work in schools across the Walsall area, providing daily guidance, calm supervision and positive role modelling to young people.

Ideal candidates will be resilient, patient and able to build strong relationships, with experience in education, care or youth work. Roles can be full-time or part-time with weekly pay and ongoing long-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work or support settings.
• Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Sports Coach or similar would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
• Working with students who may display challenging behaviour.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
• Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement.
• Helping students overcome barriers to learning.
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams.
• Providing consistent, calm and positive support throughout the school day.
