Job summary

Senploy is seeking a Behaviour Mentor for a specialist SEMH performing arts school in Islington. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH, using music and creative activities to engage them and foster confidence, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.

You will collaborate with teachers and the pastoral team to monitor progress and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment, contributing to students' education and personal development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in a school setting.
• Background or interest in music, media, performing arts or creative subjects.
• Experience supporting students with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication, resilience and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, proactive and empathetic approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH needs.
• Use music, media or creative activities to engage and motivate pupils.
• Support students in managing their emotions and developing positive behaviour.
• Implement individual behaviour plans and tailored support strategies.
• Build strong relationships with students and encourage positive engagement in learning.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to support students' progress.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
