Job summary

Pertemps Education Network is recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor at a SEMH secondary school in Wallington, Surrey, starting in September. The role is full-time and long-term, offering a daily rate of £110.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, build positive relationships, and help implement behaviour plans to support vulnerable students. The ideal candidate will have experience with children or young people in educational settings, remain calm under pressure, and communicate effectively

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people within a school or educational setting.
• Confident, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive approach and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
• A background in sport, coaching, mentoring or youth work would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural and emotional support.
• Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and personal development.
• Support teachers in maintaining a calm, structured and productive learning environment.
• Help implement behaviour support strategies and individual behaviour plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
