Job summary

REESON Education is seeking a Behaviour Mentor in Southampton to support SEMH in both primary and secondary settings. The role is a flexible supply position with daily rates of £80 to £100 and ASAP start, subject to safeguarding checks. Registration for current or future vacancies is offered.

The candidate will work to build trust, manage emotional wellbeing and support pupils in transitions while adhering to safeguarding processes and school protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEMH or pastoral support, or mentoring, youth work or care.
• Empathetic approach and calm communication with pupils.
• Willingness to follow safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build respectful relationships and set clear expectations with pupils.
• Provide emotional literacy activities, check-ins and supported transitions.
• Follow school plans for behaviour and de-escalation.
• Support pupils to develop regulation strategies and confidence.
• Share observations with pastoral teams per safeguarding rules.
