Job summary

Academics in Reading is seeking a caring SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students in a secondary SEMH setting. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, help with emotional regulation, and assist teachers and pastoral staff to maintain a safe, encouraging classroom.

Ideal candidates are psychology graduates who are passionate about working with young people, patient, resilient, and a confident communicator. This role starts ASAP with pay per day in line with qualifications and experience.

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs?

A Secondary SEMH School in Reading is looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring Psychologists, Therapists, Counsellors or Teachers to gain hands-on experience in an SEMH setting.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students.
• Support students with emotional regulation, confidence and engagement.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, supportive environment.
• Monitor students' wellbeing, behaviour and progress.

Pay: 93- 110 per day

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm

Contract: Full-time

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
