Job summary

Academics Ltd are recruiting for an SEMH Teaching Assistant in Reading to support students in a secondary SEMH setting. A Psychology graduate is ideal to help with social, emotional and mental health needs.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with emotional regulation, build trusting relationships and work with teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe learning environment. Contract is full-time, start ASAP, pay £93–£110 per day.

Qualifications

• Psychology graduate preferred to support SEMH needs.
• Experience or interest in mental health, education or therapy is beneficial.
• Ability to engage and support students in a secondary SEMH setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students.
• Support students with emotional regulation, confidence and engagement.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, supportive environment.
• Monitor students' wellbeing, behaviour and progress.
