Our client, a large and inclusive academy based in Milton Keynes, is seeking a passionate and resilient SEMH and Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated support team. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require tailored emotional and behavioural support to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-class and out-of-class support to students with SEMH and behavioural needs
Assist in delivering personalised interventions and behaviour strategies
Support students with emotional regulation, focus, and classroom engagement
Build positive and trusting relationships with students to help improve behaviour and wellbeing
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and the pastoral team
Help promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH and behavioural difficulties
Understands the importance of consistency, routine, and a trauma-informed approach
Has strong interpersonal skills and is calm under pressure
Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
Has experience in education, youth work, or care settings (desirable but not essential)
