SEN Teaching Assistant – Camden (NW5) – Full Time – Immediate Start Supporting a Pupil with SEMH, Challenging Behaviour and ASD Axcis Education is proud to be partnering with a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Camden (NW5), currently seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 1. This rewarding role involves working one-to-one with a young girl who has Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and associated behavioural challenges. The school is looking for a dedicated and resilient professional who can offer consistent emotional support, while promoting positive behaviour and maintaining clear, supportive boundaries. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with SEMH, ASD, and behavioural needs. Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment. Support the pupil in regulating emotions, developing social communication skills, and engaging positively in learning. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions and adapt strategies as needed. Apply trauma-informed and autism-aware practices to build trust, stability, and engagement. The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, ASD, or behavioural difficulties. A good understanding of trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches. Strong behaviour management skills, with a calm, patient, and empathetic approach. Confidence in setting and maintaining boundaries in a positive and consistent way.
