Job Description:

A mainstream secondary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time position requires a candidate with a proven background in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  2. Assist teachers in creating and implementing individualized support plans.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  4. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
  5. Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour to inform future support strategies.
Requirements:
  1. Experience supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  2. Previous experience working in schools, as a youth worker, or in a similar position.
  3. Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
