Job summary

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in the PR4 area who are seeking to appoint a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to support a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them develop both academically and emotionally in a nurturing learning environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with a child on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH or SEN needs.
• Patience, empathy and commitment to helping children learn.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Confident in providing academic and emotional support.
• Proactive, flexible approach to behaviour management and learning support.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEMH needs during the school day.
• Deliver focused interventions and emotional regulation support as required.
• Work with class teacher, SENCO and staff to ensure pupil receives best support.
