Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is hiring a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with SEMH needs in a primary setting in Bexleyheath. You will provide 1:1 classroom support and help the pupil manage emotions, building a positive, trauma-informed learning environment.

The role requires a calm, patient approach and strong relationship-building skills to support ongoing engagement with learning and with staff and peers. Salary is daily rate 100–115 GBP, full-time, long-term.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, ADHD or additional learning needs.
• Calm, patient and positive approach.
• Confidence in responding to challenging situations sensitively.
• Strong relationship-building skills.
• Genuine commitment to helping children reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent 1:1 support during lessons and throughout the school day.
• Helping the pupil recognise and regulate their emotions.
• Implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
• Supporting engagement with classroom activities and learning.
• Encouraging positive relationships with peers and staff.
• Working alongside the teacher and SENCO to create a supportive learning environment.
