Job summary

Fitch Group seeks an Data Analytics – Associate Director to lead semantic data modelling in its London office. You will drive the semantic layer strategy, design core ontologies with business SMEs, and ensure AI-ready data principles across data products.

Collaboration with governance, data platforms, and senior stakeholders will be essential to scale the programme. You will shape standards and tooling, embed semantic mapping in governance, and deliver observable business impact across Ratings,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related discipline; typically 4–6 years of relevant experience.
Hands-on experience with metadata management, ontologies, or semantic layers.
Track record of translating ambiguous business knowledge into structured, governed models.
Strong judgement about what makes a good data/knowledge model.
Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Shape and deliver Fitch's semantic layer and ontology capability from initial use case to organisation-wide practice.
Design and maintain core and domain ontologies with business SMEs and data owners.
Align data products with AI-ready data principles across the business.
Embed semantic mapping into the data product registration process with Governance.
Define modelling standards, formats, and tooling for portable semantics across platforms.
Engage senior stakeholders, translating business terminology into governed semantic models.
Define success criteria for semantic layer adoption and measure impact on downstream AI use cases.
