Job summary

Keys Group in Newcastle is expanding its team of tutors to deliver tailored 1:1 sessions in English, Maths and life skills for learners aged 5-16 who are excluded or at risk. Sessions occur in community settings or students' homes, with travel across local areas required to fit your availability and build trusted relationships that drive progress.

The role welcomes qualified and unqualified teachers, HLTA and experienced tutors with SEN/SEMH experience, requiring a minimum commitment of two days

Qualifications

• Experience delivering sessions to 5–16-year-olds with SEN/SEMH needs.
• Ability to travel across local areas.
• Strong behaviour management and differentiation skills.
• First Aid qualification is desirable.

• Plan and adapt personalised lessons to suit individual learner needs
• Build positive, trusting relationships to support engagement and growth
• Deliver sessions in quiet community settings or students' homes
• Work flexibly with scheduling that fits your availability
• Travel across local areas to deliver sessions

Who We Support You will work with young people who are:

• Excluded or at risk of exclusion
• School refusers
• Experiencing disruption due to health or home circumstances
• At risk of entering the criminal justice system
• Experience delivering the UK curriculum
• Strong behaviour management and differentiation skills
• Understanding of SEN, including ASD, ADHD and mental health needs
• Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH learners
• Minimum availability of 2 days per week
• Ability to travel (full UK driving licence, own vehicle with business insurance and breakdown cover)
• A patient, resilient, and resourceful approach
• First Aid qualification (desirable)
