Job summary

Medicare People is seeking self-employed Live-in Carers in Shoreham by Sea to provide person-centred care in clients' homes, supporting daily living activities and wellbeing. This role offers flexible placement lengths, competitive rates negotiated with families, and the chance to build meaningful relationships while maintaining independence.

As a live-in carer, you’ll be matched based on your skills and experience, with ongoing support from Medicare People and potential repeat assignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' professional care experience in the UK.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Reliable, professional, and attentive to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care within clients' homes.
• Build meaningful relationships through companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing and grooming.
• Support mobility and safe moving and handling.
• Prepare meals and encourage nutrition and hydration.
• Administer medication in line with care plans.
• Support light household duties, including cleaning and laundry.
• Run errands such as shopping and collecting prescriptions.
• Monitor wellbeing and report concerns appropriately.
• Work closely with families and healthcare professionals.
• Keep accurate and detailed care records.
• Deliver meaningful one-to-one support that promotes independence.
