Job summary

MBDA in Stevenage is seeking a Vetting Officer to join a busy security team. You will manage BPSS and UKSV vetting processes for new starters, liaise with external agencies, and ensure timely progression of security clearances.

The role requires excellent stakeholder management, meticulous administration, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid working with office and home days is offered. Pre-employment medical may be required.

Vetting Officer

Stevenage or Bolton (Hybrid Working) | £26.85 per hour Umbrella | 12-Month Contract (Highly Likely Extension)

We're recruiting for a Vetting Officer to join a well-established organisation operating within the defence and security sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in security vetting, personnel security, or compliance administration to join a busy and growing team supporting the onboarding and management of security-cleared personnel.

Working within a fast-paced security function, you'll be responsible for managing vetting activities, supporting recruitment processes, liaising with external agencies, and ensuring security clearance requirements are progressed efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the processing of BPSS and UKSV security clearances for new starters.
• Manage confidential and complex vetting cases.
• Act as a key point of contact for vetting-related queries and issues.
• Liaise with UKSV and other external security agencies where required.
• Maintain and update clearance information across vetting databases and IT systems.
