Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking a caring, customer-focused Security Services team member to provide a visible presence and service across campus. You will respond to incidents, monitor alarms and CCTV, write detailed reports and coordinate with emergency services as required.

You will work on a 21-hour week shift pattern, including days, nights and weekends, and hold a full UK driving licence. The role offers a competitive salary of £36,834–£38,961 per annum, pro-rata for part-time staff,

Qualifications

• Experience in Education, Security or Welfare environment.
• Proficient IT skills and willingness to learn security software.
• Strong interpersonal skills with discretion and sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a highly visible presence patrolling campus per shift.
• Respond to incidents and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
• Operate CCTV and access-control systems; archive footage for evidential purposes.
• Produce accurate written reports and maintain incident records.
