Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is hiring a Site Protection Security Team Leader (Nights) for Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Avonmouth, Bristol. The role oversees security across DCs, leading a team on a 4 on 4 off night schedule from 19:00 to 07:00.

You will monitor CCTV, access control, and patrols, ensuring a safe environment for staff and assets while supporting incident response and theft prevention. A front-line SIA licence and a UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Literate and numerate with strong attention to detail and IT skills.
• Must hold a valid front-line SIA Licence.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres in Bristol.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S values.
• Monitor access control systems, CCTV and vehicle movements per site procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols to ensure site safety and security.
• Assist with theft prevention and stock loss investigations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.
• Hold regular team meetings to engage and lead the team and communicate strategy.
• Be accountable for site performance and flexibility for short-notice assignments.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and company security policies.

Job Overview

Fantastic opportunity to join the Mitie and Marks & Spencer family!

We are looking for a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide exceptional security cover across Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Avonmouth, Bristol.

As an SPO, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service across all DCs. You will be required to work flexibly across days, nights, and weekends, including short-notice cover when required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead, maintain and provide professional security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres within Bristol.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key value.
• Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting.
• Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.
• Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access.
• Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.
• Hold regular meetings to engage, motivate, and manage your team, developing and communicating the strategy. Communicate and follow Management lead.
• Be accountable for performance of the site.
• To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
• Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice assignments.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.
