Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services in Avonmouth (Bristol) is hiring a Site Protection Officer for Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres. • Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.
• Conduct site and person searches and report concerns to security management.
• Support prevention and investigation of theft and unauthorised access.
• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms and emergencies following site protocols.

Job Overview

We are looking for a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide exceptional security cover across Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Avonmouth.

As an SPO, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service across all DCs. You will be required to work flexibly across days, nights, and weekends, including short-notice cover when required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide professional security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres within Bristol.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key values.
• Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting.
• Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.
• Conduct site and person searches.
• Clearly communicate with staff and members of the public, reporting any concerns to security management.
• Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access.
• Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.
• Assist site management and permanent SPO teams to maintain smooth and compliant operations.
• Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice assignments.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.
