Job summary

Smile Digital in Bath and Bristol is seeking an experienced Security Systems Engineer to service and maintain CCTV, access control, door entry and intercom systems across residential and commercial sites.

You will own fault diagnosis, plan maintenance visits, complete small installation works, and ensure all activities are documented and compliant with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Security Engineer or Electronic Security Engineer.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CCTV and access control systems.
  • Experience in service, maintenance and fault diagnosis.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of IP networking would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing and maintaining CCTV, access control, door entry and intercom systems.
  • Identifying and resolving faults across electronic security systems.
  • Carrying out reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance.

Security Systems Engineer - Bath and Bristol - £32k-£40k plus overtime and on-call opportunities

We are supporting an established fire and security business with the recruitment of an experienced Security Systems Engineer to cover Bath, Bristol and the surrounding areas.

This is a predominantly service and maintenance role, offering plenty of variety across residential and commercial properties.

The role

You will be responsible for keeping electronic security systems operating effectively, carrying out planned maintenance, resolving faults and completing smaller works as required.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

About you

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Previous experience working as a Security Engineer or Electronic Security Engineer.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of CCTV, access control, door entry and intercom systems.
  • Experience of service, maintenance and fault diagnosis.
  • The ability to investigate technical problems and resolve them independently.
  • A good understanding of safe working practices and industry standards.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of IP networking and networked security systems would be beneficial.

You will need to be comfortable managing your own workload, working independently on customer sites and communicating effectively with the wider team.
