Job summary

Additional Resources Ltd in London and surrounding areas seeks a Security Systems Engineer to support customers and engineering teams across intruder alarms, access control, CCTV and intercom systems. The role covers planned maintenance, fault finding, repairs and technical support.

You will work across multiple security platforms, using manufacturer software for configuration and diagnostics, with a field-based schedule and paid travel.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Security Systems Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong experience in the electronic security industry.
• Good technical knowledge of security systems and associated technologies.
• Logical and methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• High level of accuracy when completing work and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned maintenance and reactive repairs on electronic security systems.
• Investigating faults and providing technical support to customers and engineers.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Security Systems Engineer to join an established fire and security services provider, supporting customers and engineering teams across a range of electronic security systems. The role involves planned maintenance, fault finding, repairs and technical support across security systems.

This is a field-based role offering a basic salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, plus paid travel, on‑call and overtime allowances, with total average earnings of £43,000 - £60,000, plus benefits.

Candidates can be based anywhere in London or within 15 miles north and 20 miles south of St Albans (office location).

You will be responsible for:

• Carrying out planned maintenance and reactive repairs on electronic security systems.
• Investigating faults and providing technical support to customers and engineers.
• Working across intruder alarms, access control, CCTV and intercom systems.
• Using manufacturer software for system configuration, diagnostics and optimisation.
• Supporting engineers with technical issues and providing guidance where required.

• Performing other duties relevant to the role as required.

What we are looking for

Relevant backgrounds

• Security Systems Engineer, Security Service Engineer, Security Maintenance Engineer, Electronic Security Engineer, Fire & Security Engineer, CCTV Engineer, Access Control Engineer, Intruder Alarm Engineer, Security Engineer or in a similar role.
