Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Security Supervisor to cover up to 56-hour contracts on days, nights, weekends and bank holidays as required. The role involves managing the control room, overseeing CCTV and safety systems, and ensuring compliance with TfL procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily briefings each morning to relevant area/contract managers.
  • Answer queries via telephone from officers and TfL management.
  • Supervise and manage the control room in absence of the supervisor.
  • Monitor CCTV, Fire, Access, Lift and other building systems from the control room.
  • Record and report incidents in daily occurrence book; pass information to management.
  • Complete daily occurrence log and ensure sign-off at shift start/end.
  • Maintain accident records and inform Control Manager of lost-time accidents.
  • Ensure compliance with TfL and company procedures and reporting.
  • Check staff SIA licenses and ID, ensure full uniform and footwear.
  • Maintain rotas, cover for sickness, and liaise with scheduling team.
  • Use Merlin system for logging patrols and incidents; attend trainings.
  • Carry out site patrols and checks; perform fire alarm tests and evacuations.
  • Provide first aid when trained and support events as needed.
  • Comply with all policies, SOPs, RA's and legal requirements.

Job description

Positions: Security Supervisor up to 56hr contracts are available (must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays when necessary)Hourly rate: £16.28 per hour, (breaks are paid, officers to remain on site) Shift pattern: 7-3-7-4, days and nights (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) Monday to Sunday.

Responsibilities
  • -This position will be contracted to work into weekdays, nights and weekends including bank holiday, and at shift pattern of 7 -3 - 7 - 4, days and night, (7am-7pm and 7pm -7am) Monday to Sunday.Mandatory- :
  • -Conduct daily briefings each morning to relevant area/contract managers keeping informed of any overnight occurrences and action taken by on duty controllers. Ensuring that all positions are covered or any issues reported to the Group Managers
  • -Answering all queries via telephone from officers and members of the Tfl Management Team in a polite and professional manner ensuring calls and messages are passed on as necessary.
  • -Supervise and manage the control room in the absence of the controller/supervisor
  • -Monitoring & Management of the Building Safety and Security systems, Fire, Access System, CCTV, Lifts and other systems based in the control room
  • -Respond and process information relating to Assignment Incidents making sure reports are placed on the system and management team made aware
  • -Ensure that all audit trails are maintained and documentation is filed and stored correctly
  • -Ensuring Health and safety check calls are monitored, and when appropriate escape missed check call procedures for the wellbeing of officers on site.
  • -Recording all incidents received from client sites and entering details into the daily occurrence book, passing all information across to the Cluster Manager.
  • -Take responsibility for ensuring compliance with TfL and company procedures and practices, in particular proper completion of necessary reporting and recording systems, and control
  • -Ensure that you fully complete the daily occurrence log, and that this is read and signed at the start and end of each shift. Complete any items not closed.
  • -Ensure that the company accident records are completed, and that the Control Manager is informed of any lost time accidents
  • -Any other reasonable request made from the management team adhering to the company
  • -Ensure CCTV systems are professionally, effectively and sensitively monitored in compliance with the Data protection legislation and TfL operating standards.
  • -Viewing CCTV footage of incidents, collating related information, monitoring results and liaising with the Police and Building and Security Management Teams in line with the DPA
  • -That all CCTV and other systems (Fire/ Access and M/E) are fully operational and being monitored closely. Any faults are immediately reported to the BM team, your line manager and reported to Helpdesk
  • -Conduct and Monitor Safety Equipment Inspections, reporting all deficiencies to Building Management and Customer Help Desk Facilities.
  • -Ensure that appropriate training records are provided and completed by Security Officers and passing such records to your line manager within 24hrs of training/tests taking place
  • -Monitor and record security officer requirements for replacement uniforms and personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • -Manage the team to deal with any suspicious packages, maintaining own and others safety and dealing with these in accordance with TfL procedures
  • -Ensure rotas are kept up to date and live. Seeking immediate cover for any sickness/leave or non- attendance, while keeping your line manager and Broadway scheduling team informed
  • -Carry out checks of staff SIA License, Company ID, that staff are in full uniform, including correct footwear and dealing with anyone that is not following company policy. Checks to take place at the start shift.
  • -Making sure that no leave is placed on the system until fully covered by the line manager.
  • -Making sure that a clear handover is completed and brief entered in the DOB when taking over the control room duties ( Scheduler or Acting Supervisor or Control Room/Supervisor), To ensure all duties completed in full to a very high standard.
  • -Report and act on any security breach, with follow up action.
  • -To assist with any security, safety, or criminal investigation
  • -To actively use the Merlin system for logging Patrols, Incident reports, Helpdesk reports and Daily Occurrence Book logs (training will be provided on the Merlin system)
  • -To conduct external and internal site patrols and checks of buildings and car parks.
  • -To carry out duties for Fire alarms and/or building evacuations
  • -To carry out tests of fire alarm systems (after training)
  • -To act as First aider (once trained)
  • -To support events taking place at SG or DS level
  • -To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • -To fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within Assignment Instructions (AI's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Risk Assessments (RA's), Memos and Toolbox talks.
  • -To be compliant with Industry and Statutory Legislation
  • -Attending further training /courses as and when directed.
  • -Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
  • -Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
Requirements
  • 5 years background check is compulsory.
  • -In date, SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor licence
  • -First aid preferred, but we can provide training.
  • -Basic IT skills, able to use a laptop, PC and Mobile phone.
  • -Must be able to pass Police Vetting NPPV1 / CTC, Smart and very presentable
  • -Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
  • -Ability to multi task and prioritise daily workloads.
  • -At all times have a smart appearance while on duty
  • -Reliable, self-motivated and ability to use own initiative and able to work without supervision.
  • -The ability to work with and deal with people at all levels.
  • -Confident and interested in self-development.

  • -Fit enough to perform manual handling in a goods in/out environment.

  • After 6 months if you are asked to work in main control rooms you could receive free CCTV training and licence
