Job summary

Smoothwall is seeking a Security Software Engineer to mature our security and compliance commitments. You will translate requirements into automated controls in pipelines and IaC, and contribute to continuous monitoring across cloud environments.

This role is engineering-first; no deep compliance background is required. You should write solid code, think in systems, and collaborate with non-engineering partners to embed security into product development.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in security, infrastructure, backend, Devops or platform engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python and working with APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, IAM, networking and security groups.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Automation-first mindset and a passion for secure, scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Translate security and compliance requirements into automated technical controls in CI/CD and IaC.
• Build pipelines and integrations to collect compliance evidence from internal systems.
• Develop continuous monitoring for security controls and cloud environments.
• Apply AI and automation to streamline compliance workflows.
• Work with cross-functional teams to embed security into workflows.
