Job summary

Bank of England in London is seeking a Security Supervisor to lead a Monday–Friday, onsite security team. You will oversee in-house personnel, manage access control, screening, and patrols, and coordinate resources across Bank locations.

The role requires strong leadership, incident response capabilities, and a professional, customer-focused approach. Reporting to the Designated Security Shift Manager, you’ll ensure operational standards, develop staff, and participate in broader Security

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or leading personnel in security or similar operations.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday and across Bank locations.
• Strong situational awareness and sound judgement under pressure.
• Coordinate resources and manage competing priorities.
• Address standards, conduct and performance via instruction and escalation.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership and day-to-day supervision of security personnel.
• Coordinate public-facing security, access control, screening, and patrols.
• Translate priorities into clear briefings and tasking.
• Allocate duties and monitor post coverage.
• Ensure high standards of vigilance, conduct and customer service.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies and make proportionate decisions.
• Record, escalate and hand over incidents and activity as required.
• Support attendance, welfare and staff development within supervisory duties.
• Deliver briefings and identify training needs.
