Job summary

Mitie is recruiting Security Officers to support our DWP security team across several sites in the region. This mobile regional role covers West and South Yorkshire, with travel between sites and a consistent weekday pattern.

You will help create safe, secure and welcoming public-sector environments for colleagues and visitors. The role offers predictable hours and a competitive hourly rate of £13.45, plus benefits like wellbeing support and pension arrangements.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
• Calm and confident approach when dealing with incidents.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for colleagues, visitors and property.
• Carry out regular patrols and routine security checks to identify and manage risks.
• Respond professionally to emergencies, incidents or suspicious activity.
• Provide a high standard of customer service and reassurance when required.
• Liaise with emergency services, local law enforcement and the Mitie Communication Centre as needed.
• Complete accurate notebook entries and incident reports after any incident or security concern.
• Follow Mitie and DWP policies and site instructions at all times.

The successful applicant will need to be flexible and confident travelling between DWP sites across the locations listed.

Previous security experience.

• A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
• A professional, calm and confident approach when dealing with incidents or challenging situations.
• Good communication skills and a strong customer service mindset.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and doing the right thing.
