Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking vigilant Security Guards for a nationwide rollout on a project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in the North London area.

You will cover various DWP sites within a 20-mile radius of the advised vacancy, patrol premises, verify IDs, and maintain a secure environment. You must hold a full UK driving licence and demonstrate a strong customer-service orientation while coordinating with local authorities when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors and property.
• Patrol premises regularly to identify security threats.
• Monitor and control access with proper identification and verification.
• Respond to emergencies or suspicious situations effectively.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide high level customer service and assist staff and visitors with security matters.
• Complete routine security checks and submit incident reports.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies and procedures.

Job Overview

• Flexibility to travel, as this role will cover various DWP sites in the North London region and within 20 miles radius from the location of advised vacancy.
• Full UK driving license is required.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for the DWP staff, visitors, and property.
• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring proper identification and verification.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in any security-related matter.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

What we are looking for.

• Previous Security Experience
• DS Licence required
