Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is hiring security guards to support a new DWP project across Doncaster and surrounding areas. The role covers several DWP sites, with flexible travel and a requirement for a full UK driving licence.

You will patrol sites, respond to emergencies, liaise with police and provide customer-focused security support. This is a field-based position with a competitive hourly rate and adherence to Mitie policies.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience is required or preferred.
• Licence required; DS Licence preferred.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors and property.
• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in any security-related matter.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Look out for and report any Health & Safety hazards on site.
• Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment and act to reduce disruption.
• Maintain professional conduct and complete notebook entries after incidents.

Job Overview

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
