  • Respond promptly, professionally and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies and welfare concerns.
  • Accurately record incidents, observations and actions using the company’s digital reporting systems.
  • Communicate effectively with the Control Room, college representatives and emergency services where necessary.
  • Resolve conflict using effective communication and de-escalation techniques.
  • Report safeguarding concerns in accordance with both company and college procedures.
Security, Safety & Compliance

  • Carry out routine security inspections of doors, gates, buildings, alarms and perimeter security.
  • Identify and report hazards, maintenance issues or environmental concerns including defective lighting, damaged property or blocked fire exits.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of college policies, safeguarding procedures, health and safety requirements and emergency arrangements.
  • Assist during emergency incidents, evacuations and fire drills as required.
Partnership Working
  • Work collaboratively with college staff, facilities management, emergency services and partner agencies to maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Share relevant information and intelligence that may assist in preventing incidents or improving campus safety.
  • Support college events, enrolment periods, open evenings and other activities where a security presence is required.
  • Promote a culture of respect, responsibility and inclusion throughout the college community.
Person Specification

  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and the Prevent Duty.
  • Understanding of issues affecting young adults within educational settings.
Hours of Work
