Job summary

DPD Group UK in Oldbury, England, is seeking an experienced Security Officer to join their security team. You will help safeguard people, assets and premises, and support incident reporting and investigation.

The role requires familiarity with CCTV, access control and reporting tools; strong communication and teamwork are essential; flexibility to cover varied hours and sites within the hub network.

Qualifications

• Security experience preferred; training will be provided.
• Armed forces, prison service or police experience welcome.
• Confident IT user with CCTV and reporting systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible with working hours and site locations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of building and assets.
• Write complete incident reports and take appropriate action.
• Investigate missing packages using CCTV and tracking systems.
• Deliver security services as part of a team and support visitors.
• Coordinate activities between contractors, employees and visitors.
• Liaise with emergency services and third parties.
• Test fire alarms, CCTV, door access and related systems.
• Monitor CCTV, access control and thermal monitoring systems.
• Upload and maintain facial recognition system daily.
• Answer calls and assist the Security Supervisor.
• Manage airport-style searches of staff and visitors.
• Targeted searches of staff and trailers within the hub.
• Internal and external foot patrols; incident support and management.
