Job summary

West Midlands Services is recruiting Night Security Officers to join our team at a commercial site in Shoreham-by-Sea. This is a permanent, full-time position on a 4-on, 4-off night rota, with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Responsibilities include gatehouse operations, access control, CCTV monitoring and regular patrols to ensure the safety of personnel and property. Must hold an SIA Licence and possess strong written English and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• SIA Licence or equivalent.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly in writing.

• Attention to detail and good observational skills.
• Experience working in security or gatehouse roles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate gatehouse and control site access and egress.
• Monitor vehicle movements and log activity.
• Manage contractor, visitor and delivery access.
• Conduct regular site patrols and CCTV/alarm monitoring.
• Prepare incident reports and security documentation.
• Perform routine safety and security checks.
• Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies professionally.
• Follow site procedures and assignment instructions.
• Maintain communication with management and colleagues.

Job Description

West Midlands Services is looking to recruit reliable, professional and experienced Night Security Officers to join our security team at a commercial site in Shoreham-by-Sea.

This is a permanent static gatehouse position, working a regular 4-on, 4-off night shift pattern.

The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining site security, controlling access and vehicle movements, conducting patrols and ensuring the safety of personnel, visitors and property.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing gatehouse operations, including site access and egress.
• Monitoring and recording all vehicle movements.
• Controlling contractor, visitor and delivery access.
• Conducting regular internal, external and perimeter security patrols.
• Monitoring CCTV and alarm systems where applicable.
• Completing daily occurrence books, incident reports and security documentation.
• Carrying out routine site safety and security checks.
• Responding professionally to incidents, alarms and emergencies.
• Ensuring site security procedures and assignment instructions are followed.
• Maintaining effective communication with site management and colleagues.
• Providing excellent customer service and a professional security presence.
• Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor Licence.
• Previous security experience preferred, particularly in gatehouse or industrial security.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good written English and report-writing ability.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Ability to work independently throughout night shifts.
• Strong attention to detail.
