Job summary

Delta Force Group is seeking a professional Security Officer to protect people, property and assets at client sites across Birmingham and surrounding towns. You will monitor CCTV and alarm systems, patrol inside and outside buildings, and manage access for staff and visitors.

You will typically work 40–48 hours per week on a set rota, with day, night and weekend shifts. The role requires a valid SIA licence, right to work in the UK, and a presence that is reliable and well-presented.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Security Guarding licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Able to pass BS 7858 security screening: 5-year history check & basic criminal record.
• Good spoken and written English for radio use and incident reports.
• Reliable, punctual and smart in appearance.
• Previous security experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm panels and report anything suspicious.
• Carry out regular internal and external patrols, checking doors, windows, fire exits and perimeter fencing.
• Control access for staff, visitors, contractors and vehicles, checking passes and keeping logs.
• Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies following site instructions.
• Write clear incident reports and keep the daily occurrence book up to date.
• Carry out lock‑up and unlock procedures and key control.
• Report health and safety hazards, fire risks and maintenance faults to the site manager.
• Provide a professional presence at reception or the front gate.

Job description

As a Security Officer you protect people, property and assets at a client site. Most of the shift is spent watching CCTV and alarm panels, patrolling inside and outside the building, and managing who comes in and out. You are often the first person staff and visitors meet, so a calm, professional manner matters as much as vigilance.

You will work at client sites in and around Birmingham, West Midlands, with work also available in Coventry, Wolverhampton, Walsall and Solihull. Typical sites include offices, retail, warehouses and logistics, construction and healthcare sites. We do not name client premises in public adverts; you will be told the site before you accept a shift.

This is a full-time role, usually 40 to 48 hours a week on a set rota. Day, night and weekend patterns are available. Pay is £12.71–£14.71 per hour, depending on the site and shift.

• Provide a helpful, professional presence at reception or the front gate

Pay and benefits

• £12.71–£14.71 per hour, depending on site and shift
• Full-time and part-time shift patterns, including days, nights and weekends
• Paid holiday (5.6 weeks a year, pro rata for part-time)
