Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Security Guard to help create a safe environment for visitors and staff while delivering excellent customer service. You will manage access, respond to incidents, and maintain logs with professional conduct across weekend shifts.

Required SIA licences (SG/DS/CCTV as applicable), BS7858 clearance, and a First Aid qualification. IT literacy (Word, Teams, Outlook) and a reliable, punctual attitude are essential.

• Written and verbal communication to meet role deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a high level of customer service and confidentiality.
• Maintain situational awareness at all times.
• Control access/egress to buildings with professional client-facing interaction.
• Be aware of protest activity and escalate appropriately.
• Assist staff, guests and contractors with information and directions.
• Follow operating procedures at all times.
• Assist during major incidents as needed.
• Wear SIA licence visibly on duty.
• Maintain accurate logs and submit reports.

Job description

About The Role:

Role overview: This role will be to carry out daily tasks as specified to create a safe and secure working environment for all visitors and staff, whilst always ensuring good customer service is provided whilst doing this.

Working Hours:

• Saturday, 08:00am–21:30pm - 13.5 hours
• Sunday, 08:00am –21:30pm -13.5 hours
• Monday 21:30pm -08:00am - 10.5 hours

What you'll do:

• Demonstrate a positive commitment to a high level of customer service, professional presentation, and confidentiality at all times.
• Always display excellent situational awareness.
• Facilitate access/egress to building(s) whilst maintaining a high level of client facing and customer service skills.
• Be aware of protest and demonstration activity and respond/escalate as appropriate.
• To actively take part in assisting staff, guests and contractors and public bodies regarding passing them information, giving direction, or responding to queries that are raised in a professional manner.
• To be fully conversant with all operating procedures and always follow them.
• Assist as instructed during major incidents.
• Always display your SIA licence whilst on duty.
• Maintain accurate records/logs and submit reports as instructed.
• Positively participate in any staff welfare or development programmes and to actively engage in any mandatory training.
• Use communication tools (radio/phones) in a confident and clear manner.
• Carry out any other reasonable request as required

• SIA Licence – Door Supervisor (DS) (if applicable to scope)
• SIA Licence – CCTV (if applicable to scope)
