Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe, secure environment for visitors and staff while delivering excellent customer service. The role involves a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights) and requires you to display an SIA licence and pass enhanced national security clearance before starting.

You will greet guests, monitor access, respond to incidents, and keep detailed logs. A first aid qualification and IT literacy are also required; training is provided as

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain national security clearance.
• SIA licences required (Security Guard and CCTV where applicable).
• First aid qualification is required.
• Proven customer service experience and strong communication skills.
• Proficient with IT tools including Word, Teams and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for visitors and staff with high customer service standards.
• Demonstrate excellent situational awareness and professional presentation.
• Control access/egress to buildings and field queries calmly and helpfully.
• Follow operating procedures and participate in training and major incidents as required.
• Maintain accurate records and logs and submit reports as instructed.

About The Role

Please note this position requires you to pass an enhanced national security clearance before commencing employment

Role Overview

This role will be to carry out daily tasks as specified to create a safe and secure working environment for all visitors and staff, whilst always ensuring good customer service is provided whilst doing this. The shift pattern is 4 on, 4 off, 2 days, 2 nights

What you'll do

• Demonstrate a positive commitment to a high level of customer service, professional presentation, and confidentiality at all times.
• Always display excellent situational awareness.
• Facilitate access/egress to building(s) whilst maintaining a high level of client facing and customer service skills.
• Be aware of protest and demonstration activity and respond/escalate as appropriate.
• To actively take part in assisting staff, guests and contractors and public bodies regarding passing them information, giving direction, or responding to queries that are raised in a professional manner.
• To be fully conversant with all operating procedures and always follow them.
• Assist as instructed during major incidents.
• Always display your SIA licence whilst on duty.
• Maintain accurate records/logs and submit reports as instructed.
• Positively participate in any staff welfare or development programmes and to actively engage in any mandatory training.
• Use communication tools (radio/phones) in a confident and clear manner.
• Carry out any other reasonable request as required
