Job summary

Mitie Group seeks a Relief Security Officer to cover multiple client sites in Leeds. Flexible shifts include days, nights, weekends and holiday/sickness cover, with an hourly rate of £13.09.

You will maintain security standards, patrol sites, monitor access, operate CCTV and respond to incidents while delivering professional customer service. A valid SIA Front Line Licence is required and you must be able to work across locations.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Front Line Licence (Security Guarding/ Door Supervision or equivalent).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good IT and computer literacy.
• Strong customer service and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, visitors, contractors and colleagues.
• Conduct internal and external patrols and monitor access points.
• Operate CCTV, alarm and access control systems as required.
• Record incidents and complete high-standard reports; escalate as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, visitors, contractors, and colleagues.
• Conduct internal and external patrols as required.
• Monitor access and egress points, ensuring compliance with site procedures.
• Operate CCTV, alarm, and access control systems where applicable.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, and security breaches.

Incident Reporting

• Accurately record incidents, accidents, and security concerns.
• Complete reports and documentation to a high standard.
• Escalate issues in line with site Assignment Instructions and company procedures.

Customer Service

• Deliver a professional and welcoming service to all site users.
• Liaise effectively with clients, visitors, emergency services, and internal stakeholders.
• Always represent Mitie professionally.

Compliance

• Follow all Assignment Instructions, Health & Safety requirements, and client-specific procedures.
• Maintain standards in accordance with company, industry, and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Bring

Essential Requirements

• Valid SIA Front Line Licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervision or equivalent).

Security Clearance Requirements

Due to the nature of our client contracts, successful applicants must:

• Have a minimum of 5 years continuous UK residency history.
• Be eligible to undergo security screening and vetting processes.
• Be willing and able to obtain Security Check (SC) Clearance.

Desirable

• Previous corporate security experience.
• Existing SC Clearance.
• Experience using access control, CCTV, and incident management systems.
• First Aid qualification.
