Mitie is recruiting Security Officers to join our team at a brand-new HMRC site in Telford. You will help protect people, property, and critical public services while delivering a calm, customer-focused security presence day and night.

You’ll work a 4 on, 4 off pattern, perform patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and maintain high professional standards. Training and development opportunities are provided by a leading UK facilities management company.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience required.
• Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor) required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills expected.
• Professional, reliable and approachable demeanor expected.
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
• Comfortable using security technology and systems.
• Able to work both day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors and contractors.
• Conduct routine patrols and security checks.
• Monitor access and egress points.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies and security concerns.

About the RoleAs a Security Officer, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day security operation of this prestigious government site.

Working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern covering both days and nights, you'll provide a visible security presence, carry out patrols, monitor site activity, manage access control, and respond to incidents while ensuring the highest standards of professionalism at all times.

No two shifts are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working as part of a team.

Security Clearance RequirementThis role requires successful candidates to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) Clearance.

To be eligible for SC Clearance, applicants will typically need to have been continuously resident in the UK for the last 5 years, alongside meeting other government vetting requirements.
