Job summary

Marks & Spencer is seeking a Security Officer to help maintain a safe and welcoming store environment for customers and colleagues. You will be the visible security presence, responding to incidents and supporting store operations with a calm, professional approach.

You will use store technology and collaborate with teammates to protect people, products and the store, while delivering high standards of customer service in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience is preferred
• A valid SIA licence is desirable, although not essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A calm, confident and professional approach
• A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly
• A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe
• All candidates must be able to provide a 5-year checkable work history within the UK.

Responsibilities

• Keep stores safe and secure, preventing loss and responding to incidents.
• Identify risks and support safe ways of working to protect our environment.
• Use store technology (mobile reporting systems, body-worn cameras) to support operations and incident management.
• Stay calm under pressure and act professionally in challenging situations.
• Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards and deliver great service.
