Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting an Office Services Operative - Security Officer at Hull. You will deliver a professional security service, maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and support site operations across the assigned locations.

Reporting to the Office Services Supervisor, you will respond to incidents, liaise with authorities and keep robust records. A customer-focused and calm approach is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly security service at all times.
• Respond to security issues, incidents and emergencies.
• Keep customers informed during emergencies.
• Support contractors and visitors, ensuring site procedures are followed.
• Liaise with statutory authorities when required and provide information.
• Monitor site radio systems and follow radio procedures.
• Maintain accurate site records and safety forms.
• Provide updates to management on service delivery.
• Support wider onsite services as needed.
• Undertake other duties to support business needs.

• 42 hours per week
• Monday - Sunday, 4 on 4 off shift pattern
• Location: Hull
• £13.45 per hour
• SIA Front Line Guarding Licence required

As a Security Officer with Sodexo, you'll play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our client, customers and visitors.

Reporting to the Office Services Supervisor / Sodexo Operations Manager, you'll support the delivery of security services across the site, ensuring all security, statutory, contractual and company requirements are followed.

This is a customer-focused role where you'll need to remain calm under pressure, communicate confidently and respond effectively to security issues and emergencies.

What you'll do

• Provide a professional, friendly and helpful security service at all times
• Respond promptly and effectively to security issues, incidents and emergencies
• Keep customers informed and reassured during emergency situations
• Support contractors and visitors, ensuring site procedures and policies are followed
• Liaise with statutory authorities when required and provide relevant information
• Monitor site radio systems and follow correct radio procedures
• Maintain accurate site records, including Health & Safety records, Incident Forms and the Site Occurrence Book
• Provide regular updates and feedback to the management team on service delivery
• Develop excellent working relationships with on-site customers
• Identify and support effective solutions and corrective actions where required
• Support wider onsite services including Reception, Mailroom, Portering, Meeting Room Setup, Help Desk, Gardening and Waste Management
• Maintain a smart and professional appearance in line with site uniform requirements
• Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the needs of the business

What you'll bring

• SIA Front Line Guarding Licence - essential
• CCTV Licence - essential
• Good verbal and written communication skills

A professional or further qualification in Security Management and/or a Customer Service Qualification would be desirable.
