Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Casual Security Officer to provide a safe and secure environment on-site in Buxton. The role offers zero-hours/casual contracts with hours offered as required. You will support the security team, respond to incidents, assist with emergencies, and maintain records.

A valid SIA licence and strong customer service skills are essential for this on-site position. We value reliability and proactive people who can work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA Frontline Security Guarding licence is essential.
• Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office.
• Good time-management and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during incidents or emergencies.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Confidence to follow procedures and elevate concerns when required.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a security team.
• Reliable, flexible and proactive approach.
• A professional or further qualification in Security Operations would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Help provide a safe and secure environment for everyone on site, delivering a professional security service.
• Provide flexible security cover when required to support the site and wider security team.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, concerns and emergencies.
• Assist with fire alarms and other emergencies, following site procedures and training.
• Welcome and assist visitors and contractors, ensuring procedures are followed.
• Monitor security systems, including CCTV and radio communications, and stay alert to issues.
• Maintain accurate security records and incident reports.
• Communicate information clearly to the Security Supervisor and site management.
• Liaise with colleagues, customers and authorities when required.
• Undertake additional duties to support operations.

What you'll do:

• Help provide a safe and secure environment for everyone on site, delivering a professional security service.
• Provide flexible security cover when required to support the needs of the site and wider security team.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, concerns and emergencies.
• Assist with fire alarms and other emergency situations, following site procedures and your training.
• Welcome and assist visitors and third-party contractors, ensuring relevant security and site procedures are followed.
• Monitor site security systems, including CCTV and radio communications, remaining alert to potential security concerns.
• Maintain accurate security records, including incident reports, Health & Safety documentation and site occurrence records.
• Respond to requests for assistance and elevate incidents or concerns appropriately.
• Liaise professionally with colleagues, customers, contractors and relevant authorities when required.
• Ensure security procedures and assignment instructions are followed consistently.
• Communicate important information and incidents clearly to the Security Supervisor and site management.
• Maintain a professional, friendly and approachable presence while delivering excellent customer service.
• Work flexibly to support the security operation and undertake additional reasonable duties when required.

What you’ll bring:

• A valid SIA Frontline Security Guarding licence - essential.
• Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office.
• Good time-management and organisational skills.
