Job summary

B&M Retail in Exeter is seeking a dedicated Retail Security Officer to safeguard people and stock while maintaining a welcoming customer experience. This full-time, permanent role covers daytime, evening and weekend shifts, with flexibility to suit store needs.

You will monitor activity, operate CCTV, uphold safety standards and investigate incidents to prevent loss. We value calm, responsible individuals with strong communication and teamwork skills who can handle challenging conversations

Are you a confident and professional Retail Security Officer? Do you enjoy safeguarding people, products, and store environments while delivering a welcoming customer experience?

Join our team in Exeter and make a real difference!

In this role, you’ll be trusted with responsibility and play a vital role in safeguarding the store. Working closely with the Store Management Team, you’ll help prevent loss, manage risk and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism.

This is a full-time, permanent role with flexibility to work across daytime, evening and weekend shifts - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and being an integral part of the store team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Actively monitoring the store to identify, prevent and report incidents
• Operating and reviewing CCTV systems in line with company policies
• Supporting the enforcement of Health & Safety procedures
• Conducting investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud
• Engaging with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively
