Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment for staff, visitors and assets at our London location. The role involves monitoring premises, patrolling, responding to incidents and upholding security protocols to ensure safety across client sites.

The ideal candidate holds a current DS SIA licence, has proven security experience, and demonstrates strong observational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current SIA licence (DS SIA) required.
• Proven experience in a security role or similar.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Calm under pressure and decisive in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Welcome staff and visitors, maintaining a safe, professional environment.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor premises to deter unauthorised access, theft or vandalism.
• Monitor access points, CCTV and security procedures.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies and incidents and take appropriate action.
• Complete detailed daily activity, incident and security reports.
• Assist in emergencies, including evacuations and first aid support when required.
• Adapt to different client sites and varying shifts as needed.
• Respond calmly and confidently to incidents and concerns.

About the Role:

• Welcoming staff and visitors and creating a safe, professional atmosphere
• Conducting regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft, or vandalism.
• Monitoring access points, CCTV, and handling security procedures
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action as needed.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and any security concerns.
• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support if required.
• Adapting to different client sites - no two days are the same
• Responding calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns

What we are looking for:

• To hold a current DS SIA Licence
• Proven experience in a security role or a similar position.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
