Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a Security Officer in Aberdeen on a permanent basis. The role operates a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, including days and nights, with a pay rate of £14.80 per hour.

You will monitor premises, patrol, respond to incidents and ensure security protocols are followed to safeguard staff, visitors and assets. The successful candidate will hold a current DS SIA licence and have proven security experience, strong observation skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a polite, courteous manner towards the public, the client and colleagues.
• Remain alert to activity and report to Lead Officer / Security Management team.
• Report issues immediately to Lead Officer / Security Management team.
• Make enquiries and submit reports on incidents as instructed by the Lead Officer / Security Management team.
• Carry out duties including access control, mail examination, escorting, incident investigation.
• Prevent unauthorised entry to the premises.

About the Role

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Maintain a polite, courteous, and friendly manner towards the public, the client, and colleagues.
• Remain alert and vigilant to activity on the site to ensure risks are minimised through prompt action and reporting to the Lead Officer / Security Management team.
• Reporting immediately to the Lead Officer / Security Management team any issues that arise which compromises safety or security.
• Make enquiries and submit reports on incidents as instructed by the Lead Officer / Security Management team.
• Carry out all other duties as required by the Lead Officer / Security Management team. These may include but are not limited to access control, mail examination, escorting, incident investigation.
• Prevent the admittance to the premises of unauthorised persons.

What we are looking for

• To hold a current DS SIA Licence
• Proven experience in a security role or a similar position.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
