Job summary

ABM is seeking a Security Officer to join our team at Eastgate Shopping Centre, SS14 1EB. The role involves patrolling, incident response, report writing, and working to protect customers and staff in a busy retail environment.

The ideal candidate holds a valid SIA Door Supervision license, has excellent communication skills, and can stay calm under pressure. The position offers 44 hours per week on a 5 on/2 off pattern with day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA Door supervision license is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience in a shopping centre or security environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage all shopping centre procedures in line with codes of practice.
• Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre.
• Support the soft service manager and shopping centre management.
• Liaise with authorities and security supervisor on incidents.
• Control and prioritise incidents with escalation procedures.
• Monitor access and egress to service yards and management office.
• Ensure a safe and non-threatening environment for customers and staff.
• Assist in security audits and address noncompliance.
• Maintain excellent relationships with client, suppliers and partners.
• Interact with visitors and tenants delivering first-class customer service.
• Assist third-party contractors/visitors with site procedures.
• Demonstrate excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Show good knowledge of local area and customer service.

LOCATION: EASTGATE SHOPPING CENTRE, SS14 1EB

SHIFT PATTERN: 5 on 2 off, Days and Night, 44 hours per week

PAY RATE: £13.33 per hour

JobObjective&Responsibilities:

We are looking for a security officer who is a team player who is flexible, proactive and has report writing experience. Calm under pressure and able to respond to emergency situations. Strong IT experience and knowledge. Reporting the soft service manager supervisor and delivery of Security within the Shopping Centre environment. You will need to be an excellent communicator with common sense and a can-do attitude.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage all shopping centre procedures in line with the codes of practice.
• Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site Assignment Instructions, being always proactive.
• Support and provide guidance with soft service manager and shopping centre management
• Liaise closely with statutory authorities and security supervisor with dealing with incidents and the provision of information.
• Controlling and prioritising incidents ensuring all key personnel are always kept fully informed and agreed escalation procedures are followed.
• Manage and monitor access & egress to and from the service yards and management office.
• Ensuring that the shopping centre is a safe and non-threatening environment for all customers and site staff.
• Support the soft service manager to ensure the necessary security audits are undertaken and any noncompliance highlighted and managed to completion.
• Manage excellent relationships with our client, our suppliers, and other partners.
• Interact with all visitors and tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first class customer focused service.
• Aid third party contractors/visitors ensuring all site procedures and policies are adhered to.

• Demonstrated ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
• To have a smart appearance befitting the company
• To respond to all incidents, taking ownership of the situation through to its natural conclusion to both client and management satisfaction

• A valid SIA Door supervision license

Desirable

• A valid SIA Public space surveillance (CCTV)licence.
• CCTV/Security control room experience
