Job summary

ABM UK in Cobham is seeking a Security Officer to be the public face of the security team, delivering first-class customer service to visitors and tenants. The role uses patrols and proactive assistance to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

You will patrol, report incidents, and liaise with the control room while following site policies. A strong team approach and a professional, courteous demeanor are essential.

Qualifications

• SIA license is essential.
• CCTV license is essential.
• First Aid Training is required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with visitors and tenants to deliver first-class customer service.
• Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in site instructions.
• Proactively assist visitors and tenants whenever opportunities arise.
• Maintain a safe, non-threatening environment for all visitors and tenants.
• Report incidents promptly in line with site policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with the control room and other teams during incidents and ensure briefings are clear.
• Ensure unsecure areas are reported and actions taken to resolve.
• Log non-conformances and emergencies with the control room.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and keep the team informed.
• Monitor behaviour and sightings, logging incidents per site rules.
• Prevent unauthorised access by reporting and addressing security risks.
• Follow radio procedures at all times and keep accurate records.
• Be prepared to undertake additional reasonable duties as required by management.

LOCATION: COBHAM, KT11 3PT

SHIFT PATTERN: 4 on 4 off, Days and Night, 42 hours per week

PAY RATE: £14.80 per hour

JobObjective&Responsibilities:

This important role is the public face of the Security Team. A can-do and professional attitude is essential in this highly influential role. You also need to ensure exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Readily interact with all visitors/tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first class customer focused service


• Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site assignment Instructions, being always proactive


• Continuously look for opportunities to be of assistance to visitors at the shopping centre, proactively helping wherever opportunities arise


• Safeguard all the sites are safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors/tenants.


• Ensuring all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedure


• Liaising with site control room proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and always supported


• Ensure any unsecure areas of the site are reported to Control Room immediately and action taken to resolve


• Record/log all non-conformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives


• Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies ensuring the Centre team are kept fully always informed


• Intelligent understanding of human behaviour, monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals, logging, and reporting incidents in line with site/company polices


• Maintain vigilance and highlight/manage unauthorised access by banned individuals


• Ensure radio procedures are always adhered to


• Ensure all events/incidents are recorded in the Security Officer notebook correctly and notebook policies are always adhered to


• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.


• Any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager


• Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events


• Complete all training requirements as requested by line manager


• Be available to cover at least one additional shift per month if requested to cover absence/annual leave


• Liaise closely with the Environmental Services team delivering one service and highlight opportunities in working as one team


• Any other duties as assigned by your manager to support the team and ensure the smooth operation of the business will be communicated to you
