Job summary

ABM, a global facilities solutions provider, seeks a Security Officer for Galleries Shopping Centre in the United Kingdom. You will be the public face of the Security Team, ensuring exemplary security and customer service standards while upholding client and visitor safety.

You will patrol the centre, respond to incidents in line with site policies, liaise with the control room, and log non-conformances. A proactive, professional attitude and shift flexibility are required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with visitors/tenants delivering first class customer focused service
• Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site assignment Instructions
• Proactively helping wherever opportunities arise to assist visitors
• Safeguard site is safe and non-threatening for all visitors/tenants
• Incidents managed per site policies; liaise with control room and brief colleagues
• Report unsecure areas to Control Room and drive resolution
• Log all non-conformances and emergencies with control room
• Respond to emergencies and keep Centre team informed
• Monitor and report on suspicious individuals; log incidents
• Maintain vigilance against unauthorised access by banned individuals
• Follow radio procedures
• Record incidents in Security Officer notebook per policies
• Undertake other duties as required by line manager
• Be available to cover additional shifts when needed
• Collaborate with Environmental Services to deliver aligned service

CONTRACT: Permanent

HOURS: 42 hours per week

SHIFT PATTERN: 4 on 4 off

PAY RATE: £12.90 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

This important role is the public face of the Security Team. A can-do and professional attitude is essential in this highly influential role. You also need to ensure exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Readily interact with all visitors/tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first class customer focused service

Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site assignment Instructions, being always proactive

Continuously look for opportunities to be of assistance to visitors at the shopping centre, proactively helping wherever opportunities arise

Safeguard all the sites are safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors/tenants.

Ensuring all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedure

Liaising with site control room proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and always supported

Ensure any unsecure areas of the site are reported to Control Room immediately and action taken to resolve

Record/log all non-conformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives

Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies ensuring the Centre team are kept fully always informed

Intelligent understanding of human behaviour, monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals, logging, and reporting incidents in line with site/company polices

Maintain vigilance and highlight/manage unauthorised access by banned individuals

Ensure radio procedures are always adhered to

Ensure all events/incidents are recorded in the Security Officer notebook correctly and notebook policies are always adhered to

Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager

Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events

Complete all training requirements as requested by line manager

Be available to cover at least one additional shift per month if requested to cover absence/annual leave

Liaise closely with the Environmental Services team delivering one service and highlight opportunities in working as one team
