Job summary

Standard 8 Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a highly technical organisation in the UK space sector to recruit a Security Infrastructure Engineer. You will maintain a hands-on security posture across the infrastructure estate, covering cloud, Linux, IAM, vulnerability management, SIEM/EDR, patching and incident response.

You will also participate in upgrades, migrations and technology refreshes, working with infrastructure, networking and application engineers to improve how security is

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years across infrastructure, security or DevSecOps.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Linux administration and system hardening.
• IAM, SSO, MFA and privileged access.
• SIEM, EDR and vulnerability management.
• Networking basics: TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls and VPNs.
• Scripting/automation with Terraform, Ansible, Python or Bash.
• Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes.
• Nice-to-have ISO 27001, NIST or CIS Benchmarks knowledge.
• Certs such as CISSP, CCSP or Security+ are bonus.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on 3rd line support for security infrastructure.
• Manage cloud, Linux, IAM, vulnerability management, SIEM/EDR, patching and hardening.
• Contribute to infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology refreshes.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking and application engineers.
• Identify and respond to security incidents and investigations.
