Job summary

Standard 8 Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a highly technical organisation in the UK space sector to recruit a Security Infrastructure Engineer. You will maintain a hands-on security posture across the infrastructure estate, covering cloud, Linux, IAM, vulnerability management, SIEM/EDR, patching and incident response.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years across infrastructure, security or DevSecOps.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Linux administration and system hardening.
• IAM, SSO, MFA and privileged access.
• SIEM, EDR and vulnerability management.
• Networking basics: TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls and VPNs.
• Scripting/automation with Terraform, Ansible, Python or Bash.
• Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes.
• Nice-to-have ISO 27001, NIST or CIS Benchmarks knowledge.
• Certs such as CISSP, CCSP or Security+ are bonus.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on 3rd line support for security infrastructure.

• Contribute to infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology refreshes.

Security Infrastructure Engineer - Space & Technology

Standard 8 is working with a highly technical organisation operating in the UK space sector, and we're looking for a Security Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing technology team.

You'll work across a varied infrastructure estate, helping keep critical systems secure, resilient and properly maintained. It's hands-on work covering 3rd line support, cloud, Linux, IAM, vulnerability management, SIEM/EDR, patching, hardening and incident response.

You'll also get involved in infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology refreshes, working alongside infrastructure, networking and application engineers.

What we're looking for

• 3-5+ years across infrastructure, security or DevSecOps
• AWS, Azure or GCP
• Linux administration and system hardening
• IAM, SSO, MFA and privileged access
• SIEM, EDR and vulnerability management

This should suit an engineer who enjoys getting under the bonnet, fixing problems properly and improving how infrastructure is secured - with the added attraction of doing it in an industry where the technology is genuinely interesting.
