Job summary

Standard 8 Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Security Infrastructure Engineer to join our highly technical team in the UK. You will work across a varied infrastructure estate, keeping critical systems secure, resilient and properly maintained.

The role requires 3–5+ years in infrastructure, security or DevSecOps, plus hands-on AWS/Azure or GCP, Linux admin, IAM, SIEM/EDR and vulnerability management. Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python or Bash and exposure to Docker/Kubernetes is essential for

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years across infrastructure, security or DevSecOps
• AWS, Azure or GCP experience
• Linux administration and system hardening
• IAM, SSO, MFA and privileged access experience
• SIEM, EDR and vulnerability management experience
• TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls and VPNs knowledge
• Terraform, Ansible, Python or Bash experience
• Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes
• Strong troubleshooting and incident investigation skills
• Experience with ISO 27001, NIST or CIS Benchmarks would be useful
• CISSP, CCSP or Security+ certifications are a bonus

Responsibilities

• Work across a varied infrastructure estate to help keep critical systems secure, resilient and properly maintained
• Provide hands-on 3rd line support across cloud, Linux, IAM, vulnerability management, SIEM/EDR, patching, hardening and incident response
• Take part in infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology refreshes
• Work alongside infrastructure, networking and application engineers
• Improve how infrastructure is secured and fix problems properly
