Job summary

MCR Property Group is recruiting a Security Guard for Earlsdon Park in Coventry. The role involves maintaining a safe environment, monitoring the premises, and responding to incidents as part of a shift pattern that includes weekday nights and weekend days and nights.

Successful candidates will be reliable, observant and able to communicate clearly with occupants, visitors and contractors while following site procedures and safety rules. A valid SIA licence is preferred where duties require it.

Security Guard

Location: Earlsdon Park, Coventry
Salary: Minimum wage
Contract: Full-time / shift-based

The Role

MCR Property Group is seeking reliable and vigilant Security Guards to support Martin’s team at Earlsdon Park in Coventry. The role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for the site, its occupants, visitors and property. Working a shift pattern that includes weekday nights and weekend day and night shifts, you will monitor the premises, respond to incidents and help ensure site procedures are followed.

Our primary focus lies in developing (new build and conversion) residential and industrial projects and managing a large and diverse mixed-use portfolio. The portfolio includes around 7,500 residential units / plots and commercial/industrial assets exceeding £2 billion in value.

Key Responsibilities

Site Security and Monitoring

• Monitor the site and maintain a visible security presence throughout your shift.
• Carry out regular patrols of designated areas, checking for security risks, damage, suspicious activity or unauthorised access.
• Monitor entrances and exits, challenging or reporting unauthorised access in line with site procedures.
• Help protect the site, its occupants, visitors and property.

Incident Response and Reporting

• Respond calmly and appropriately to security incidents, alarms and emergencies.
• Report incidents, hazards, suspicious behaviour and breaches of site procedures promptly to Martin’s team or the relevant contact.
• Maintain accurate records of patrols, incidents, handovers and any action taken.
• Contact the emergency services where required and in line with established procedures.

Health, Safety and Customer Service

• Follow site security procedures, health and safety requirements and emergency protocols.
• Communicate professionally with occupants, visitors, contractors and colleagues.
• Support the safe management of visitors and contractors where required.
• Maintain a professional, calm and approachable manner, including when dealing with challenging situations.

Shift and Team Responsibilities

• Work the agreed shift pattern, including weekday night shifts and weekend day and night shifts.
• Complete clear handovers to colleagues at the end of each shift.
• Work collaboratively with Martin’s team and other relevant site personnel.
• Remain alert, punctual and reliable throughout working hours.
