Job summary

The Met Office in the United Kingdom is seeking a Physical Security Coordinator to support the Security Manager in protecting the organisation’s buildings, premises and assets. Qualifications

• Lead Criteria: Previous Physical Security experience, ideally within a security or similar field.
• Understanding of physical security systems, including access control, intruder detection and CCTV systems and how their use can reduce physical security risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, suitable for liaising with colleagues, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to develop and implement process improvements, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrable understanding of confidentiality protocols and data protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Security Manager in the effective management, maintenance, and protection of Met Office buildings, premises, and assets.
• Coordinate with suppliers and third-party contractors to ensure security systems are operational and maintained.
• Oversee the operational management of the Guardforce and track KPIs.
• Manage security records and ensure confidentiality protocols are followed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align physical security with business needs.
