Isembard seeks a Security Controller for our London factory in Southwark to own physical and personnel security, implement vetting policies, and coordinate government security requirements across the network. You will advise other sites and maintain audit-ready records while collaborating with Legal, IT, cyber-security and export control.
The role requires experience in UK defence security, BPSS and national security vetting, and a practical, hands-on approach to security in a busy manufacturing
Isembard is building a network of high-performance factories for critical industries. We combine advanced machine tools, robotics and our own software, MasonOS, to make precision components for aerospace, defence, energy and frontier technology companies, with factories across the UK, US, Germany and France. Our mission is to forge industrial acceleration.
Isembard makes parts for aerospace and defence customers who expect their suppliers to protect people, sites and information to government standards.
The Security Controller owns personnel and physical security for our London factory in Southwark, sets our vetting policy, and builds the security arrangements our defence work requires. You will also give practical, remote support to other sites in our network.
Own physical security at our Southwark site, including access, visitors and secure areas.
Set and run our personnel vetting policy, including Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks for new starters.
Act as the company's point of contact for UK government security requirements, including national security vetting and facility security, as our defence work requires.
Advise other sites in the network on security arrangements.
Keep security policies and records current and audit-ready, and make sure people understand their responsibilities.
Work closely with Legal, IT, cyber-security and export control.
Experience in a security role at a UK defence supplier, or an equivalent government or military security background.
Working knowledge of UK personnel security, including BPSS and national security vetting.
Experience managing physical security for a site.
Familiarity with UK government security requirements for defence suppliers.
Discretion, sound judgement and clear communication.
A practical approach: security that works in a busy factory, not only on paper.
Experience setting up facility security arrangements for defence work.
Security across several sites.
A manufacturing environment.
Own a function at an early stage, with a direct effect on the defence work Isembard can take on.
Work across Legal, IT and operations in a growing manufacturing business.
Location: On-site at our Southwark factory in London.
